Family Visit Visa

The sponsor in Saudi Arabia must apply for a visa authorization through the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once the request is granted, the Ministry of foreign Affairs will send the authorization directly to the Consulate. Your sponsor must provide you with the authorization copy.

    • A completed and signed visa application form for each applicant including children (find below).
    • One copy of a passport valid for at least six months from the travel date.
    • One recent photograph with white background.
    • Non-Canadian applicants must submit a copy of both sides of a valid Permanent Residency card, a copy of the student visa or work permit.
    • A copy of the authorization slip (invitation)
    • A copy of the residency permit of the sponsor (IQAMA).
    • Proof of relationship to the sponsor (notarized copy of a marriage certificate, notarized copy of a birth certificate for a child indicating name of parents).
    • A notarized letter of permission from the absent parent is required if one parent is travelling alone with minor children. If the sponsor is either the mother or the father of the minor children the notarized letter is not required.
    • The consulate would like to inform you that for all types of visas that require proof of relationship (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, etc.) from Canada, should be notarized and stamped from the Canadian Foreign Affairs.
    • Copy of POLIO immunization record for children under the age of 15.
    • If you have a current valid visa to Saudi Arabia, submit a copy.

Additional requirements for Travel documents Holders

Add to the top requirements the following:

1- copy of the travel document
2- copy of the page which state that the person can’t visit this (country)
3- copy of both sides of his or her valid PR Card. No other documents will be accepted.
4- copy of his old passport for his previous nationality as a proof of his current nationality

You will also need to have the following consent letter stamped by the city hall in your borough or by a notary in order to obtain the visa. Original copy to be submitted. No electronic copies will be accepted.

Work/ Temporary work visa

The sponsor in Saudi Arabia must apply for a visa authorization through the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once the request is granted, the Ministry of foreign Affairs will send the authorization directly to the Consulate. Your sponsor must provide you with the authorization copy.

  • A completed and signed visa application (see below)
  • One copy of a passport valid for at least six months from the travel date.
  • Two recent photographs with a white background
  • Non-Canadian applicants must submit a valid permanent residency card (Send only copy of front and back of the PR card.)
  • TAFWEED, which is an electronic letter of sponsorship. Please make sure the name of the applicant is mentioned on the tafweed.
  •  Attach a copy of the Saudi Company’s registration certificate.
  •  The letter of sponsorship from the Saudi Company indicating the authorization number, the date, the job title and it should be certified by a Saudi Chamber of Commerce and the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  •  A copy of the signed work contract signed by both parties and stamped by the Saudi Ministry of foreign affairs.
  •  A copy of the following :
    •  Canadian degree/Diploma
    •  Letter(s) of experience from a previous employer
  • The Degree/Diploma must be certified by a notary and then by the Department of Foreign Affairs Legalization Division in Ottawa, next by the Saudi Cultural bureau and lastly by the Saudi Consulate OR  by the Apostille authentication procedure as a replacement for the Global Affairs Canada attestation step. Consequently, the Saudi Cultural bureau is now accepting documents attested through the Apostille authentication. It is important to highlight that, despite this change, degrees issued in Canada for work visa purposes in Saudi Arabia are still required to undergo the internal Saudi Cultural Bureau’s verification process. This verification process applies whether the document has undergone the previous Global Affairs Canada attestation or the current Apostille attestation. Foreign degrees must be stamped from the embassy of Saudi Arabia in the country of issue.
  • A completed copy of the CV application form (find attached)
  • Medical report: Only one original copy valid 3 months from the date of issue stamped by the college of physicians. Attach to the medical report a copy of all medical test results including scan reports.
    •  If in Quebec: After obtaining all labs results please contact the College of physicians du Quebec information: Tél. 514 933-4441 or contact the college of physician in your province.
  • Police certificate: original. Valid 3 months from the date of issue. You can request the certificate to be done with your fingerprints or by your date of birth. If by fingerprints, you can “click here” check which agent is located near you. Electronic copies will not be accepted.
  • Please note that age of employment in the Kingdom must be over the age of 22.
  • If you have a current valid visa to Saudi Arabia, submit a copy.

Requirements from the Saudi Cultural Bureau for authentication:
• Download and complete the below Authentication Request Form and Consent Form
• A bio page copy of your passport.
• Notarized copies of degree issued in Canada (ONLY) attested by the Canadian Global Affairs or Apostille
• A copy of the employment contract, authenticated by the Saudi Chamber of Commerce, or by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Original transcripts sent directly from the Canadian Institution to the Saudi Bureau in a sealed envelope.
• An official letter from the university/college attesting that the studied program is not an online program. ( The letter should sent either in a sealed envelope to the Bureau An official, sealed, and sent by mail directly from the university to the Bureau or by email at: arad-ca@ca.moe.gov.sa)
• Signed authorization (consent) letter from the applicant allowing the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau to obtain information about his/her academic record from the issuing institution. (The signature on the form should be the same as the one used by the student in his/her program of study).
• Submit a criminal record check.
• please include a pre-paid self-addressed envelope to return your authenticated documents.

Please note that before you apply for a visa at the Saudi Embassy in Ottawa, you need an approved electronic invitation letter. The sponsor in Saudi Arabia must apply for an electronic letter and provide you with a copy.

    • A completed visa application form.

    • Non-Canadian applicants must submit a valid permanent residency card (A copy of the PR card front & back)
    • Copy of the approved electronic letter.
    • Copy of Saudi company registration.
    • Canadian company letter: Original letter addressed to the embassy in Canada from a registered company or firm based in Canada, signed and stamped by a Canadian chamber of commerce OR Board of trade AND Canadian foreign affaires . This letter must include the name of the applicant, religion, nationality, passport number, occupation, name of Saudi sponsor, the purpose of the trip, length of stay and number of entries and complete financial responsibility.
    • If you have a current valid visa to Saudi Arabia, submit a copy.

 Residency Visa

    • A notarized letter of permission from the absent parent is required if one parent is travelling alone with minor children. If the sponsor is either the mother or the father of the minor children the notarized letter is not required.
    • Medical report for those 16 years of age and over: Only one original copy valid for 3 months from the date of issue stamped by the college of physicians. Attach to the medical report a copy of all medical test results including scan reports.

Residency Visa for New Born:

  • A completed visa application form. (find below)
  • One copy of a passport valid for at least six months from the travel date.
  • One recent  photographs
  • A copy of the birth certificate revealing the mother and father’s names.
  • A copy of the residency permit (IQAMA) for the parents
  • A Letter from the Saudi sponsor stamped by a Saudi chamber of commerce confirming the employment of either parent , job title, residency permit number and the expiry date. It must as well show that the sponsor has no objection of the child entering Saudi Arabia.
  • Covering letter requesting the visa from the consular section.
  • A copy of the father and mother’s passports.
  • Copy of the mother’s valid exit re-entry visa

Tourist visa

  • Complete the visa application form  (find below)
  • One recent photograph with a white background
  • Copy of the passport valid for at least 6 months
  • You must be at least 18 years old to enter alone. Travelers under the age of 18 may enter only if accompanied by a parent, grandparent or adult sibling (over 18 years old).
  • Flight itinerary (Itinerary Only, DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS BEFORE THE VISA IS ISSUED)
  • Show booking accommodation in the Kingdom
  • Provide proof of work in Canada (letter of employment)
  • Financial solvency/bank statement for the past 3 months
  • Proof of residence in Canada
  • If you have a current valid visa to Saudi Arabia, submit a copy.
  • If parents wishes to apply for his/her child in addition to their applications, the parents need to provide a proof of relationship.
  • A notarized letter of permission from the absent parent is required if one parent is travelling alone with minor children.

ESCORT VISA FOR FAMILY MEMBERS WHOSE MOTHER OR SPOUSE IS A SAUDI CITIZEN

  • For a child, copy of proof of relationship (birth certificate revealing both parents names.)
  • Copy of the marriage certificate (marriage approval from Saudi Ministry of Interior)
  • Copy of the Saudi Passport & I.D. of the mother or spouse
  • A request letter for the issuing of the visa from the Saudi citizen
  • A letter signed by the father allowing the child to accompany his mother, if the father is not accompanying them). (Copy of two pieces of identification showing his signature).
